So we went on to have the Church service and the whole big reception etc. Last week I had to apply to the department of home affairs in South Africa for our “unabridged marriage certificate” and according to them we’re not even married. 😦 What a disaster, it seems our documents have gone missing at the home affairs department and now our poor family back home to run around and look into this matter for us. It’s a pretty urgent deal because when I leave work I’ll have a small window of time to transfer my residency onto my HUSBAND’S residency and to do that I will need these papers otherwise I have to leave the country… brilliant, pregnant and exiled!
