OK so maybe it’s just me and maybe it’s because I did not grow up knowing the significance behind spraying white foam on cars but surely there has got to be a better way to celebrate such a proud day in Kuwait’s history than this. Than spending 4 days doing the same thing blocking roads, spraying cars, and leaving the country in such a state (trash and little everywhere). In my opinion the above in nothing to be proud of. And this is AFTER they had cleaned up. Surely there has to be a more progressive, productive way of celebrating something over 4 days… maybe it just needs to be better managed, then again, maybe I’m missing something. If I am, could someone please educate me?
This story has been going around for a while now and the Animal Friends League of Kuwait have looked into it and found it to be true. A shocking solution to a desperate problem in a country that should know better.
Problem here is they are not only killing the stay cats around but our beloved pets are also at risk. An innocent walk around the neighborhood is suddenly not so innocent anymore.
Where I come from, cats are domestic animals. Usually a little overweight, with more benefits than most people. The idea of a stray cat with nowhere to go never really crossed my mind. If you stumbled across a poor little critter like that then he was usually a run-away with his family searching high and low to find. Things are a little different here in Kuwait. It’s easy to find and to focus on the little forgotten souls that own the streets. But eventually they become so common and apart of the background that they risk becoming wall paper and inevitably over looked. Here are a few pics of a fresh look into the cats of Kuwait that tries to capture them as the curios gentle creatures that they are and that they need to be respected for. Luckily, through the help of organizations like Paws and Animal Friends League of Kuwait, there is a soft landing at the end of the street run for the rescued few. These organizations need as much help as they can get so please if you are able to lend a helping hand please get in touch with them.
